Welcome to your Church of England family, a centre for hope, prayer and celebration in Eccleston, Lancashire
Welcome from the Rector
I am delighted to welcome you to both this website, and our parishes, St Mary the Virgin, Eccleston and Christ Church, Charnock Richard. We are joy filled churches, delighting in the wonderful communities in which we are set. Our worship flourishes in the modern Catholic tradition of the Church of England and uses the rich traditions of our faith. You are invited to join this community of faith, to come and to recognise Jesus Christ at work in your life and to worship Him here. A warm welcome awaits for each and every person in this centre of hope, prayer and celebration.

Safeguarding
The parish of Eccleston, St Mary the Virgin is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and we have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, Garry Fishwick (07885 839067, garry.fishwick@tiscali.co.uk). The Diocese of Blackburn's safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contact details for the Diocesan Safeguarding Team (DST) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DST. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
