In our parishes we are suffering the effects of a reduction in giving due to three things:
- the church has been closed for many weeks in 2020 due to lockdown which means people have not been able to get to church to offer their regular gifts
- As we opened up, due to social distancing, fewer people have been allowed to attend services
- Social events this year have been cancelled to ensure compliance with government restrictions and guidelines
All of this means parish finances throughout the country are badly affected. The Bishop of Blackburn has launched a period of prayer and giving for parishes - not the diocese - and you can find a range of resources on this page.
